the first step in Venus Palestine journey ✈️
From Gaza to France!!
The partnership between Rola Al-Saqa and ABUTAIMA Amani is rooted in our shared experiences and commitment to preserving Palestinian heritage. Both of us were born and raised in Gaza, a place that shaped our passion for promoting traditional craftsmanship and supporting the women of Palestine.
Rola, who now works with the World Health Organization, brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep connection to the community in Gaza. Despite the challenges of living in Gaza, she remains dedicated to empowering local artisans and preserving the cultural heritage of our homeland.
Together, we founded Venus Palestine, a project focused on showcasing the beauty of Palestinian embroidery and traditional crafts. Our goal is to provide a platform for Palestinian women to display their talent, earn a sustainable income, and keep our rich cultural heritage alive for future generations.
In the besieged land of Gaza, where every day is a battle for survival, the idea of “Venus Palestine” was born as a self-funded initiative to empower Palestinian women by reviving our heritage through the traditional art of embroidery. Each piece of these handcrafted works is not just a product; it’s a story, a dream, and a collective effort by the women of Gaza, who work with precision, love, and dedication to preserve our rich culture.
At first, our vision was simple: to introduce the world to the beauty and richness of Palestinian heritage and to highlight the enormous role that Palestinian women play in passing down this legacy from generation to generation. But over time, our project became more than just embroidery; it became a symbol of resistance and resilience, and a source of hope for a group of 25 women and 3 men who, in the face of relentless challenges, found in this craft a way to improve their lives and strengthen social solidarity.
Exporting these products from Gaza has been an enormous challenge. It can take months to obtain clearance from Israeli authorities to ship even a simple box of these handcrafted items. Despite these obstacles, we persevered for three years, and today, we are proud to offer these authentic handmade embroideries for sale.
When you purchase one of our products, you are not just buying a piece of embroidery; you are supporting a story, a history, and a heritage, while encouraging a group of Palestinian women to continue their journey toward economic independence and empowerment.
Please help us spread the word by sharing our story and products on your social media pages.
Thank you so much for your support and solidarity .
